Welcome to Alexandria/Vikingland
Muskies Inc. Chapter #38
Since 1983, the Alexandria Chapter of Muskies Inc has been operating here in West Central, MN. Our chapter was formed by a group of like minded muskie anglers with the goal of expanding the muskie fishing opportunities in this part of the state. Because of the hard work of the founding members and our local DNR office in Glenwood, MN, we now have some of the best muskies lakes in the state of Minnesota. With lakes like Miltona, Lobster, Oscar, and West Battle - West Central Minnesota is now known as mecca for muskie angler's not only from Minnesota, but from all over the country.
Original Vikingland Founding Letters
The Alexandria/Vikingland Chapter #38 continues today to ensure that we maintain the great fisheries in our area. We have a diverse group of members from young kids, women, and men that come together and make our chapter great. The goals of our chapter include promoting the practice of Catch and Release, organizing youth fishing outings, and educating as many anglers as we can about the sport of muskie fishing. Throughout the year we have many organized events for our members like the chapter tournaments, kids outings, pool demonstrations, seminar speakers, and our famous year-end Awards/Fundraising Banquet.

Muskies, Inc. is an active, service-oriented, non-profit organization for men, women and children with the single focus of improving the sport of muskie fishing everywhere the fish are found. Founded in 1966 by Gil Hamm, the original group of thirteen avid muskie fisherman concentrated on continual improvement of the muskie resource through rearing and stocking efforts and sound conservation practices.
Today, departments of natural resources have realized the value of stocking muskies. There are thirty-seven of the lower forty-eight states with active muskie stocking programs.
Muskies, Inc. has expanded to over 7,500 members and 47 independent local chapters throughout the country. We have become a national voice of the protection of the muskie species.
